Some people don't bother replacing the gaskets that go on both sides of the brake backing plates. As far as I know, these gaskets aren't available precut so I decided to make a set of templates to cut them out myself. Thanks to a friend who has a CAD program, he took my rough tracings and measurements and we were able to make templates for both the gasket between the axle flange and backing plate and the one between the backing plate and bearing retainer. Below are links to PDF files of these gaskets for anyone interested. I simply printed these templates, cut them out, and traced them onto the gasket material. This material was given to me but I'm pretty sure it is some sort of oil impregnated paper material about .012 thick.
